AZF 2016 Presents Digital DIY -- Feat Work by Koja
This Saturday, June 11th, Murmur is hosting the fifth annual Atlanta Zine Fest. The fest, taking place in various locations in South Downtown, is centered around the them of Digital DIY. AZF will include a series of interactive discussions,workshops and vendors addressing the various notions of internet culture and its influence on "IRL" perceptions, realities and experiences.
Digital Aging, a group show curated by Nina Dolgin, will open at the fest at noon. The show will address the rise of the digital age and its role in expanding "the human experience". Multi-modal work inspired by "personal digital histories" will be featured by Pete Though, Sarah Schoemann, McBean Parkway, Carly Elliot,Tyra Blackmon, Mena Ganey, El Putnam, and others.
The Koja team will be joining forces with artists FRKO and Zipporah Joel, as well a seamtress and designer Bianca Cooper of Biyunka to present the Black Amino zine Volume one -- including a dystopian comic and free narrative.
AZF is free and open to the public and will include the AZF After Party. The fest is from 12 pm to 8 pm and begins at 100 Broad St SW and various location in the South Broad area.
